The Department of Veterans Affairs has revised form 26-1880, Request for a Certificate of Eligibility (Cx3957). Changes include the addition of information about faster processing, and changes in the procedure for mailing the completed application.
The following information has been added under the banner on the revised form:
IMPORTANT: For faster processing, VA encourages you to visit the eBenefits portal at www.ebenefits.va.gov for your Certificate of Eligibility, or contact the lender of your choice to submit an application electronically. In most cases, an eligibility determination can be made instantly.
The changes made by the VA concerning the mailing of the completed application necessitated the following:
- Changing the language in the “MAIL COMPLETED APPLICATION TO” box to “THE REGIONAL LOAN CENTER OF JURISDICTION. SEE PAGE 3 FOR REGIONAL LOAN CENTER ADDRESSES.”;
- Deletion of box 7B, “MAIL CERTIFICATE OF ELIGIBILITY TO”; and
- Addition of page 3, which contains a table listing all the jurisdictions and their associated Regional Loan Center address.
This update also includes minor grammatical changes.
