On May 1, 2017 Gov. Phil Scott (R-VT) signed into law VT H.B. 182 (2017) which amends various provisions of Vermont’s statutes regulating “consumer litigation funding companies; licensed lenders; money servicers; debt adjusters; and loan servicers.” Effective dates for provisions within this bill vary, ranging from “upon passage” to July 1, 2017 (see http://legislature.vermont.gov/bill/status/2018/H.182 for details).
